Hi5 is a social entertainment site that allows users to build a profile to share information such as interests, age, basic info and photos that others can comment on. Users can also set up different photo albums,a music player on their profile and play online games, bringing in the “entertainment” part of Social Entertainment.
Looking at the website, it doesn’t seem much as a professional social networking site, where the only thing working for PR is the interacting aspect. It has things such as a “flirt” button and options to buy coins for games. It’s a social network site aimed towards a younger demographic rather than a professional audience.
The cool thing is that Hi5 Networks has a blog! Recent blog posts show different changes to hi5 and also“Games of the Future” presented by Alex St. John that was actually presented at this years’ SXSW. Their focus seems to have shifted mainly to gaming with others, than social networking. It wouldn’t be my first pick for a social networking tool for PR!
